I just read all the Anita Blake graphic novels this weekend. Some time last year, or was the year before last, I had been given Laura K. Hamilton's book Obsidian Butterfly and enjoyed it thoroughly. Of course, that was the first book of the series I read so when I get the chance, I'll start from book one.
When the graphic novel Anita Blake - Vampire Hunter: Guilty Pleasures came out I was pretty excited. Even more so when I saw that Brett Booth was the artist. I liked his art since Kindred.
Though I liked the graphic novels, I felt the art didn't push the blacks enough. Since it was a book about vampires and night, I noticed that the art didn't have much black. It's still amazing though, enough to inspire me to do this simple pin-up of the sexy vampire hunter Anita Blake.
Of course, I didn't spot many blacks here either but I will be adding to this picture in the future... with a lot of blacks.
And for all the lady fans out there, the picture just might have an appearance of Jean-Claude.

Oh wow! Fantastic work, Diablito. I haven't read any of the books or comics yet, but I want to. I've heard so many good things from so many people. I'm sure others besides myself will find this a very enjoyable piece.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
