Artist's Comments

I just read all the Anita Blake graphic novels this weekend. Some time last year, or was the year before last, I had been given Laura K. Hamilton's book Obsidian Butterfly and enjoyed it thoroughly. Of course, that was the first book of the series I read so when I get the chance, I'll start from book one.

When the graphic novel Anita Blake - Vampire Hunter: Guilty Pleasures came out I was pretty excited. Even more so when I saw that Brett Booth was the artist. I liked his art since Kindred.

Though I liked the graphic novels, I felt the art didn't push the blacks enough. Since it was a book about vampires and night, I noticed that the art didn't have much black. It's still amazing though, enough to inspire me to do this simple pin-up of the sexy vampire hunter Anita Blake.

Of course, I didn't spot many blacks here either but I will be adding to this picture in the future... with a lot of blacks.

And for all the lady fans out there, the picture just might have an appearance of Jean-Claude.

Pilot Pen, Sharpie marker, on smooth paper (...kind unknown).

Thanks! I almost didn't ink it. I've been really chicken to ink recently and I don't know why.

Oh I like! Talk about attitude to spare...she'd get rid of half of it and she'd command the room just the same! Love it!

If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?

Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?
:icondiablito77:
I agree! Thanks for taking a look!

Oh wow! Fantastic work, Diablito. I haven't read any of the books or comics yet, but I want to. I've heard so many good things from so many people. I'm sure others besides myself will find this a very enjoyable piece. :D

Thanks! :D
